The California Jazz Conservatory (CJC) of Berkeley, CA was founded by Susan Muscarella in 2009. The California Jazz Conservatory (CJC) is the only independent, accredited music conservatory in the country devoted solely to the study and performance of the African American art form, jazz, and related styles of music.

The California Jazz Conservatory offers instrumentalists and vocalists a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies; an Associate of Arts in Jazz Studies; and a Master’s Degree for the 21st Century Jazz Composer-Performer.

The CJC Faculty Ensemble is:
