“The Blues Had a Baby…and they named it Rock and Roll”
The famous quote from Muddy Waters will be the main focus of this performance – referring to the time when Blues was going electric and Rock was in its nascent period. With songs by Fats Domino, Little Milton Campbell, Ike Turner & the Kings of Rhythm, Little Willie John and others, along with some retro-inspired originals we hope to capture American music at the cusp of becoming something completely new and, ushering in one of the most creative periods in memory. Using both vintage instruments and modern technology, the Almost Acoustic Band hopes to inspire those who grew up listening to this music as well as to introduce others to a historically significant period in 20th Century music.
